m.i.lumsden is a multi-media artist and illustrator who currently lives and works in cape cod, ma. SHE HAS a degree in environmental science, HAS HAD a LONG career in aviation weather, and IS a member of the SCBWI.  her studio practice ranges widely in media and genre and she enjoys the process of discovery and freedom that it brings.

Inspired by the eerie beauty of nature and stories hidden in shadows, the art of M.I. Lumsden invites its audience to embrace calm melancholy and uneasy dreaminess.  she has a passion for storytelling through art with scenes of narrative contemplations. Each piece is a window into a world where the Ordinary becomes withdrawn, and the Familiar takes on a new, mysterious form. 

When she is not in her studio she is out with her dog, Nimbo, walking around in nature taking way too many reference photos.
